Umbrellas for Peace Gallery Exhibit

All are welcome; it is free and open to the public! Come gather with us to view the beautiful painted umbrellas, meet the artists and join in on interactive art exhibits.
Community Center Hours: 
Monday through Friday 8 a.m.- 4:30 p.m.
Saturdays 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
 Sundays 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.
The reception and exhibition are both free and open to the public.

Background:
On April 26, 2013 Ursuline College Art Therapy and Counseling graduate student Diane Fleisch Hughes presented the Umbrellas For Peace project. As part of her thesis research, Diane is exploring how to strengthen and build community through shared art making. The event, hosted by Ursuline College, was a huge success with over 75 people participating. The group painted umbrellas with messages of peace and then joined together on a peace parade with the umbrellas through the beautiful Ursuline campus.
